Conferences Hosted by IRC Princeton Model United Nations Conference (PMUNC): Conference Dates: December 7th - 10th, 2006 PMUNC '06 will be held this year at the Harrison Conference Center from December 7-10, 2006. For the first time ever, PMUNC will expand its conference length from 3 days to 4 days. Also for the first time ever, the first committee session will be held on Princeton's campus with opening and closing cermonies being held in Princeton University's Chapel. We will continue to set the standard as a well-rounded, educational conference, combining traditional Model UN with new and exciting experimental committees. Committees at PMUNC '06 will include the United Nations Security Council, Rising Sun: The Emergence of the Empire of Nippon, 1945: Capturing the Dragon Throne, La Brûlure de La Ville de Lumière (Français) and Tournament of Shadows. Princeton Interactive Crisis Simulation (PICSim): Conference Dates: March 1st -4th, 2006 PICSim is not a traditional Model UN Conference. While MUN committees tend to work in isolation, each committee oblivious to the actions of others, ignoring the issues that others address, PICSim committees are completely interactive and crisis driven, imitating the real world as closely as possible. Official diplomacy is the only tool available in traditional MUN. At PICSim, the policy options available to committees include the whole spectrum of economic, social, political, diplomatic, and military policies. PCSim also addresses the involvement of non state actors such as rebel groups, NGOs, terrorists, private economic interests, and the news media in international politics. Interested in helping out? |
